MP Rail began supplying Aluminothermic welding and rail labour services to metropolitan Sydney and country New South Wales in 2012. Since then we have developed a strong group of highly-skilled rail welders and adjusters, track certifiers, protection officers, supervisors, leading hands and labourers.
MP Rail offers our clients a flexible service where we can easily integrate with your teams to cover peaks in workload, or deliver specialised track construction and maintenance services.
Our personnel are competent Rail Safety Workers in the Australian Rail Track Corporation, Sydney Trains and John Holland Country Regional Networks, and also work in many private railway sidings.
Rail safety, workplace health and safety, and quality management is a key focus for MP Rail; we are always looking for ways to improve and be leaders in the industry. Our WHS Management System is certified to AS 4801 and our Quality Management System complies with ISO 9001

Mark Stapley – Director
Mark has 34 years’ experience in the NSW rail industry with Public Transport Commission, Rail Infrastructure Corporation, RailCorp, John Holland Group and as Director of MP Rail.
Abbie Thomas – Project Engineer
Abbie has nine years’ experience as a Site/Project Engineer for ARTC, Macmahon Rail and John Holland, delivering various rail maintenance and construction projects. In addition to her Mechanical Engineering degree, Abbie has postgraduate qualifications and demonstrated experience in Project Management and Workplace Health and Safety.
Anthony Furness – Welder
Anthony has 15 years’ experience in Aluminothermic welding and all facets of track maintenance, construction, renewals and track resurfacing machines. He has worked with Rail Infrastructure Corporation, RailCorp, John Holland Group and MP Rail.
William Stapley - Welder
William has five years’ experience in Aluminothermic welding and track construction and maintenance on various projects throughout NSW.
Geoff Hopkins - Welder
Geoff has 10 years’ experience in Aluminothermic welding and track construction and maintenance on various projects throughout NSW.
